Established in 2016, Shanghai Big Data Alliance (SHBDA) is a non-profit organization under the joint supervision of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization and Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, which has the data source, service provider and the big data application developers as members. With the continuous implementation of Shanghai big data development strategy, SHBDA has more than 700 institute members by 2020, covering the entire big data industrial chain from computing power to resources, algorithms to applications, and technology to scenarios. The industry sectors include finance, healthcare, education, culture, justice, new retail, smart manufacturing, etc.

In accordance with the purpose of “innovation integration, service demonstration”, SHBDA is designed to serve communication, cooperation, think tanks, and capital for big data industries. Also, SHBDA combines industry, academia, research, and application institutes to form healthy ecosystem of big data industries, improve big data innovation, promote big data application, develop big data industry, and serve national and local innovation strategy.
